Special note during the Covid-19 pandemic:  I am accepting new clients who are residents of the state of California on my secure, HIPAA compliant videoconferencing platform.

Welcome to my site.

All of us struggle at different times in our lives. We may feel stuck in our current state or situation and wonder if this is how life has to be. Whether you are facing a conflict that seems unsolvable, are searching for more meaning in life, or want to heal past wounds to feel a deeper sense of peace, making the decision to seek help takes courage.

My approach
I seek to understand each individual's story with the care and respect that is deserved. I believe in the potential for people to change. No issue is too messy to figure out together. My goal is to provide a secure space to work through whatever life has thrown your way.

I offer a genuine, warm and direct relationship with my clients.  My goal is to help you reach greater self-awareness, insight and to have healthier relationships.
Psychotherapy is fundamentally about discovering a deeper sense of personal meaning, greater self-understanding, and self-acceptance. It offers the possibility of coming into contact with a more enlivened state of being. Psychotherapy can help us move through life with a greater degree of freedom and flexibility, feeling more connected to ourselves and others along the way.

I create a safe space to listen carefully and empathically, to help you understand how you have developed into who you are, and what gets in the way in the here and now. There are many ways to do this work. I believe the most important place to start in any modality is by really listening, and establishing a solid therapeutic alliance.

My focus
In my practice, I work with depression, anxiety, bipolar 2, trauma, codependency, grief, addiction, loss of meaning and life transitions.  I also utilize Brainspotting, a brain-based, mind-body trauma therapy and teach skills of tracking, resourcing and grounding to help calm the nervous system.  I work with teens, individuals and couples.

I have a special focus on working with clients who have bipolar 2 disorder.  I help clients learn their cycles and how to intervene on behalf of themselves when needed.  We create a treatment team with other allies as well (family, friends, psychiatrist) in order to create a plan of support and wellness.  I also explore finding psychospiritual meaning in bipolar 2 symptoms, seeking to create meaning out of the bipolar experience.

I look forward to connecting with you.
